Ounce of PreventionThe Ounce of Prevention tool kit includes simple nutrition and activity Addressing the growing epidemic of obesity is top priority for many healthcare providers. Physicians who regularly monitor growth and provide anticipatory guidance related to parenting, eating, and physical activity can perform an important intervention in a child’s life. This informational kit provides parent handouts, physician charts and posters for help in preventing obesity through the first twelve well child visits. The three areas are geared towards the 12 Well-Child Visits, Parent Guidelines and Tools for the Doctor's Office. Follow the desired links to learn more! The handouts/tools are available in both black and white and color versions. Ounce of Prevention is a collaboration of Healthy Ohio, the American Academy of Pediatrics, Ohio; Ohio Department of Health; Ohio Dietetic Association; Children’s Hospital; Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition and the American Dairy Association & Dairy Council Mid East. 12 Well-Child Visit Handouts--Follow the links!
